Never a Dull Moment ~My Creative Sketches~

Welcome to reveal day at My Creative Sketches! Today we are revealing the September Sketch Challenge and I will be sharing with you my take on it.

For this layout I chose to use Bo Bunny's Weekend Market Collection. It has a real masculine feel to it, and it went perfectly with this charming photo my niece took of their son, Jacob! He really is a charmer!

Here is the sketch we had to work with....designed by Liz Chidester, for My Creative Scrapbook. It sure was fun for me to work with!

Here is a close up of the photo of Jacob! I chose to duplicate the photo, double the fun! I distressed the edges and off set them a bit.  I used a Prima stencil of clocks with modeling paste on the paper behind, though you can't see too much of it and I used some cardboard with gesso behind that, surrounded by cheese cloth.

in this photo you can see the Dusty Attic hinge I used. I painted it first with Tim Holtz's metallic distress paints, some teal chalk ink and some Recollections Microbeads. I also used a Prima Chevron stencil and some modeling paste.

For the title I used a Blue Ferns Studio chippie title and treated it very similarly to the DA hinge. I used a Prima checkers stencil/modeling paste in behind the photo area and used some Glimmer Mist in Dragon Fly and some Gelato's in white, blue and a touch of green.

In this corner I fussy cut some more strips and images from the paper collection and popped them up for more dimension. I also did some random stamping with a Prima stamp and coffee Archival Ink. I added a Tim Holtz belt buckle which I distessed a bit with gesso and teal chalk ink. I also randomly stamped some white circles with gesso/microbeads and a toilet paper roll! Anything can be a tool!

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope I inspired you in some way and gave you some ideas of some techniques you would like to try! Please go over to the My Creative Sketches blog and check out the rest of the designers work.....I am sure you will NOT be disappointed! Also, give the sketch a try and link it up to the blog for your chance to win the amazing prize Pam always generously supplies for the randomly choosen winner! Your layout could also be featured in the top 3!

Be Blessed this week!
