Full reveal day at C'est Magnifique ~ The Height of Chic~

Welcome to the full reveal of the January kit for C'est Magnifique Kits, named "The Height of Chic"! But before I do that, I have 2 more layouts I want to share with you! Shabbiness at its best!

My first layout I have to share is called "Perfect Gift" based on the Bible Scripture James 1:17. This is my great niece Cassidy, and she was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis just over a year ago, and let me tell you, this little girl is a fighter, and also the Perfect Gift to all those who know and love her. I stole this photo off of Facebook and it was from a recent photo shoot the family had. I love how over exposed it is, and how it makes her blue eyes just pop right of the paper!

I did lots of paper tearing and layering, and masking , and for me, its clean and simple , Bonnie style! To create this layout I used the Main Kit, the Embellishment Add-on.  From my stash I used: Gesso, molding paste, Prima stencil, paper doily, cheese cloth, Memory Box die, Cheery Lynn Designs flower die,Liquid pearls, mists, Prima Chalk Ink, ,Martha Stewart border punch

I hamd made some flowers with the pink checked paper from the Main Kit, edged them with pink chalk ink and spritzed them down with water and then crumpled them up. I hit them with my heat gun and then carefully opened them up, layered them and glued them and gave them a hit of Gesso!  I used the gorgeous pink rose ribbon from the Embellishment kit as a frame around the photo.

Next I bring you a layout featuring Cassidy's gorgeous parents, Kimberly and Jesse! These papers where perfect with Jesse's shirt, and I had to add a pop of color to match Kimberly's sweater! They are such a gorgeous couple! So, here is "So In Love"!

I did alot of distressing and border punching on this layout. Really shabby chic! I used a mask with distress ink and chalk ink that I then covered with Liquetex Blended Fibers. I had loads of fun mixing the inks to try and get the right shade to match Kimberly's sweater as best I could. I used the Main Kit, the Flower Add-on , the Embellishment Add-on as well. From my stash: stencil, blended fibers, gesso, distress inks, chalk ink, cheese cloth. Martha Stewart border punches, Cheery Lynn Designs flower die.

I made some flowers with the blue damask paper the same way I did the pink flowers in the layout before this one. Just lots of yummy details!

Ok! Its time to show you the entire contents of "The Height of Chic" January/14 kit!

Sneak peaks of the January kit with C'est Magnificque Kits

Hello all! It's finally time to share my first 2 DT projects with you, using the January Kit! This kit is so shabby chic yummy it is sure to delight! It has made my debut to C'est Magnifuique Kits a pleasure!

My first layout is called "Jacob", featuring my great nephew Jacob! If you are a follower of mine you will have seen this cutie patutie before. With all the gorgeous flowers in the kit I decided that a boy layout can have flowers too, and still be masculine! I had lots of fun using the stencil from the Embellishment Add-on with some molding paste and some gelatos.

close ups:
used a touch of blue gelatos on the profile of the square frame that came with the embellishment add- on kit

I used the stencil that came in the Embellishment add- on kit with molding paste and then added a bit of blue gelatos.

As an extra touch I used the Blue Fern Studios butterflies that came in the Embellishment Add-on and I wet them down and peeled some of the layers apart for some extra shabbiness! I then used embossing enamel on them.
To create this layout I used the Main Kit, Flower add-on, and Embellish Add-on. From my own stash I used: corrugated cardboard, gesso, light molding paste, short strand of black pearls, distress ink, embossing enamel and Gelatos.

For my second project I altered this paper box. I call this  a "Memory Trinket Box", great for a little girl who wants to save those oh so precious treasures she finds! It was time to get into the yummy pink papers in this kit!

The white paper with the chairs on the bottom were screaming at me to be used on this trinket box! I used a few different pink Stickles to make them sparkle just a little more!

 close ups:

on the foliage I cut out with my Memory Box dies, I added molding paste to give them more stiffness and texture and painted them with a green mist from my stash.

To complete this trinket box I used the Main Kit, the Flower Add-on, the Embellishment Add-on, and the pink roses from the Magnificque Mixed Media Add-on that I already had in my stash.  From my stash I used: Prima stencil, gesso, molding paste, paper doily, Memory Box die, mists, chalk ink, Stickles, Pearl pen, embossing enamel, and the title came from a box that had a birthday gift in it from my aunt.

The full reveal is on the 30th, so please check back to see what the whole kit includes! I am sure you will be as in love with this kit as all of us designer are! I hope that I have is some way inspired you to get creative with this amazing kit!

Be Blessed!

My Big News!! ~C'est Magnifique Kits Design Team!!~

I can't begin to tell you how thrilled I am to be able to announce that I have been asked to join the C'est Magnifique Kits Design Team! I've had to keep this quiet for a few months, and if you know me, it's not an easy task to keep such good news quiet!

This is my first kit club and I love the idea that I will get to work with International papers - something that is not easily available here in Canada. We will be having our first reveal for the Jan/14 kit in a couple of days and I have been busy crafting! I can't wait to be able to share it all with you!

Be Blessed!

Two Hearts ~My Creative Sketches Nov Sketch~

Welcome to reveal day at My Creative Sketches, featuring the November sketch! This will be my last DT reveal for MCS and I am sad to have to say good-bye. I always enjoyed working with the sketches, but it is time to move on and move forward! That being said, watch out for some news from me a little later on!

Back to the sketch! This sketch just blew my mind with endless possibilities, but I finally settled on the design below. I knew I had to use this gorgeous wedding photo of my sister and her now hubby. I just loved it! Chivalry is not dead! Phraze Photography did all the photos for the wedding, and they did an amazing job! If you live locally and are in need of a photographer I would highly recommend them! Click on their name and it will take you to their website.

The papers I have used are by Authentique, collection Cherish. I just love the quality of these papers, and of course the pink! I knew it would be perfect with Cheryl's bouquet. I did a scalloped cut edge, free handed around the perimeter of the layout which I inked with a brown chalk ink and the wet abit with water to make the paper more pliable so I could mold it giving it more definition.

This is the gorgeous sketch, designed by Liz Chidester for My Creative Scrapbook. Can't you just see the endless possibilities this sketch has?

In this embellishment cluster on the bottom left hand corner of the photo I used some Le Mia Create collection, and I dry brushed them with gesso. I used some leaves from I am Roses, and put some cheese cloth around the flower cluster. I love the light airy feel it gives!

Here is a closer look at a different angle focusing more on the Prima Resin frame with a photo of the brides bouquet. Just a shout out for my daughter Jerica who made this bouquet from flowers from Costco! Goes to show you can really do things on a shoe string budget! Thats my girl! Tucked in at the top corner of the frame are some more white Prima flowers edged with a pink chalk ink.

Moving over the the bottom right hand corner of the photo, I fussy cut the feather/clock embellishment from Prima's Delight paper collection, tucking in and around it some white Prima flowers edged with a pink chalk ink. I used a Pink Paislee Artisan Elements ornament featuring the bride and grooms names. I have had those in my personal stash for SO long, it felt good to find a layout worthy of their beauty! I used some tiny clear alphas for their names.

The top right hand corner is a smaller cluster with some Prima roses and leaves and Prima light bulb.

I used these words by Blue Fern Studios from their Wedding Words package, and I left  the raw chipboard as they came, just doing a big of dry brushing with gesso to highlight them.

Here you can see a close up of the layout, and you can see for the circle part of the sketch I chose to hand stitch with burgundy embroidery floss. I love how it connects all the elements together.

On the top left and bottom right hand corner of the layout I used a Prima stencil called Flourish with Liquidtex Light Moldiing Paste. I am so in love with these stencils and the molding paste! On the upper corner of the pink paper I used a Rose Heart Corner from Prima, designed by Ingvid Bolme for their Junkyard Findings collectiion. I added a touch of pink chalk ink to the roses.

Thank you for stopping by! Please go to the MCS blog and link up your layouts using this sketch for a chance to win the wonderful prize that Pam has waiting just for you!

Be Blessed!
